Fishbon rolled out the fabulous 22' Robot last seen at the Heroes of the Apocalypse event at Reds Wine Bar in the Funk Zone in 2008 for a special performance at the County Arts Commission and UCSB Arts and Lectures Sci-Fi Night at the Courthouse Sunken Gardens. The installation complemented the cult classic Forbidden Planet. Jon Smith and Dominique Reboul resurrected the beast. Alan Macy built a real live Theramin, the classic musical instrument featured in the soundtrack of the film and Ron Robinson and Alan Steubing on the Theremin and Streubiphone were magnificent.
Since our inception as the result of a collaboration in Korte Trouwjurk 2003, Fishbon artists, builders, engineers and performers have collaborated Eenvoudige Trouwjurken to bring more than fifty creative events, installations and performances to life. And we need your help to keep that beautiful string of projects alive. Fishbon believes the synergy (sharings of perspectives and skills) made possible in a collaborative space creates a unique and special context for art. By providing context, physical infrastructure, tools, mentoring support and encouragement for creative collaboration, Fishbon is an experiential incubator for emerging cooperative working models. Much more about the process experience than final product, Fishbon creates a diverse "interactive" split voor Prom Dresses learning community that would be difficult to achieve in isolated individual working environments.
